Hi, I’m Kavita Jhaveri
your host (that’s me!)
Here’s what I want to share with you…
So much of the relationship self-help advice that I see, literally on social media daily, has originated from Western values, and has little understanding of our South Asian ways…
- *It relates to our families as separate from our romantic relationships.
- *It can be so focused on diagnosing what’s wrong with us, that it misses the beauty of our ways.
- *It will often separate spirituality from the foundation of our relationships.
- *It can dishonor our natural family values, and force us to create artificial “boundaries” that don’t feel in alignment with how we were raised.
That advice doesn’t actually understand who and how we are. And it can make us feel bad and wrong for our cultural ways, like they’re backwards or broken.
Because to really provide us with healthier ways of relating, they would need to deeply understand and consider…
At the same time, most of us are more Westernized than our parents and grandparents, and we want to feel self-expressed and free as individuals.
- *We want to feel free to love who we love.
- *We don’t want to be bound by old ways of thinking or traditions that suppress our truth.
- *We don’t want to hide who we are from our families, out of fear they won’t accept us.
- *We want to find ways to be ALL that we are, without pretending parts of us don’t exist or feeling torn between two worlds.
This summit will help shed light on how you may be adopting Western ways that don’t ultimately work for you, and how to embrace your culture while also not losing yourself to it.
In this FREE 5-day online summit, we’ll gather as a community to hear thoughtful, real conversations about how to have healthier ways of relating, while embracing the family and cultural values that work for us.
Whether you’re single or partnered all are welcome.
